Life at JPS
Jain Public School caters to the best academic excellence along with the widened scope to co-curricular activities. The school life is scheduled to ensure the child’s holistic learning needs are met at all times.
At Preschool
The early years follows flexible schedules starting the day with assemblies, physical exercise, circle time or group-chat. Each day starts with circle time, an activity that involves sharing feelings, stories and positive affirmations. Learning begins with activities and exploratory, hands-on learning activities in language, number work and general awareness; pre-reading and reading sessions enhance listening, comprehension, and focus.
Play time involves both a structured curriculum for motor-skill development as well as free play in dedicated indoor and outdoor play areas with safe equipment and cognitive/sensory play material. Other activities include art and craft, rhymes and music, and story time with puppet theatre. Children enjoy library and life skills classes that teach them how to fold and button shirts, lace shoes, brush teeth, eat healthy, and be polite.
Grades 1 and above
A typical day for the students of Grades 1 to 10 begins with a school assembly which sets the tone for the day. The students of each class take turns to make presentations, conduct quizzes and other interactive programmes on current affairs. This gives them the opportunity to hone their public speaking skills, increase their general knowledge through active involvement and creates a healthy student culture of self-learning.
The rest of the day of the students is spent in participation in interactive classes where spontaneity is actively encouraged. Additionally, a plethora of co-curricular activities are interwoven into the daily schedule to ensure the holistic development of the students. A number of Inter house competitions, both literary and cultural, are conducted to encourage the children to strive to be the best. The students of grade 6 to 10 are members of various Clubs where they learn management skills along with other activities. The students are entrusted with organising events in order to enable their organisational and leadership skills.
A surfeit of events through the academic year provides a multitude of opportunities to the children to showcase their talents in various fields.
Investiture Ceremony
The Investiture ceremony, which is the first major event of our school, signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers. Donning the mantle of accountability, the newly elected student leaders who are elected by the students community, pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities.
Education Utsav
An Education Utsav is organised which aims to bring out the hidden talents of the students in various fields like Science, Art, Music, Literature etc. The students prepare marvelous projects on the given topics which they display on the 'Utsav Day'. The over whelming response of the parents gives the Jainties a huge motivation to perform better every year. The Utsav gives the students an enlightening experience.
Hindi Diwas
Hindi Diwas is celebrated on to honour Hindi, the official language of India. The students and staff of Jain Public School celebrate Hindi Diwas in the school to mark the importance of the country’s most widely spoken language. A special assembly is conducted where students perform skits, group songs, dances etc. Class wise activities and competitions like quiz, elocution, declamation, fancy dress etc are also conducted during the week.
Kannada Rajyotsava
November 1 marks Kannada Rajyotsava or Karnataka Formation day. The Kannada Rajyotsava is celebrated in Jain Public School with utmost zeal and enthusiasm. A special assembly is conducted where students perform skits, group songs, dances etc to spread the fragrance of Kannada Language. The celebration generates a sense of pride in the minds of the students and staff, for being part of a culture that is so rich and vibrant.
Readers’ Rendezvous
This event propagates the importance of reading in order to transform the process of learning. Hence, the activities which are mainly focused on bibliophiles in and around the Library comprise of Seminars on books, presentation of writings, discourse by eminent authors, storytelling sessions, poster making and display of books through a book fair
Sports Day
This is a chance for children who have a passion for outdoor sports and team games to shine.
Children also learn how to cope in a competitive environment as well as learning all about winning and losing; which are important life skills to assimilate in preparation for the working environment.
It may also be a chance for pupils to learn hands-on about the need to abide by the rules, team work, fair play and respect for others and earn wider recognition for their sporting prowess.
The sports meet is opened with a March Past by all the class students. Races for different distances, relay race and drills are held. Fun events are planned for the parents. The students are felicitated with medals and trophies by the dignitaries.
Annual Day
Annual Day forms an integral part of our school activities. It is an occasion of celebrations, felicitations and festivities when students present not only their wonderful performances but also receive honours for their curricular and co-curricular achievements. A grand stage is set up for the students to elicit their talents. They present mesmerizing cultural events such as dances, street plays, dramas etc on selected themes.
Interschool Competitions
Interschool competitions are organized for the students of Jain Public School and the other schools are also invited for the mega event. Various competitions are planned like painting, dancing, singing, elocution, fancy dress etc. Experts in various fields are invited to judge the competitions. The winners are awarded with trophies and medals.
Valedictory Function
The academic year of our school culminates with the announcements of winners and champions of the competitions conducted through the year and bidding a farewell to the graduating batch of the grade 10 students.
