Frequently asked questions (FAQs)?

There will not be any difficulty as ICSE and CBSE and the state boards are of equal standards. This has been the experience of a large number of our students and teaching staff.

The admission will be available for Pre-Primary to Grade 9 based on the availability of seats.

Application forms can be picked up from the school campus. Filled in application forms with registration fees and photocopy of the report card of the previous grade have to be submitted for the registration. The candidates will be required to take a written test based on the present grade in which they are studying.

  • Birth Certificate from the Municipal Corporation / Civic Authorities
  • A copy of the latest progress report certified by the school in which the student last studied ( if applicable )
  • Two individual passport size colour photographs of the students and the parents to be enclosed
  • Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificate
  • Wellness Record duly signed by the physician.

JPS owns and operates a fleet of buses equipped with all safety measures mandated by law, including GPS, fire extinguishers, CCTV cameras, a first – aid box and speed governors. Parents can opt to drop and pick up the child or make similar arrangements of their own.

JPS has the best and highly accomplished faculty. A small class size of 30-35 students ensure that staff is able to focus adequate time and attention on their students. Hence, the teacher –taught ratio is maintained at 1:20 at Kindergarten level,1:30 at the Primary level and 1:35 at the Middle school and high school levels

All the students are given personal attention in the class at JPS and efforts are taken to keep the level of all the students at par. However, if a child is found in need of special guidance in a particular subject(s) we cater to their requirements with a meticulously planned regime of personalised tutoring pattern through remedial classes.

Yes, the medium of instruction is English.

  • Kindergarten – 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • Grades 1 to 4 – 8:30 am to 2:50 pm
  • Grades 5 to 10 – 8:00 am to 2:50 pm

The duration of each period is 40 minutes.

We follow a 5 day week schedule from Monday to Friday for Pre primary to Grade 4 Grades 5 to 10 work for 6 days in a week from Monday to Saturday. However, the third Saturday of the month is a holiday.

Yes, Interschool competitions will be conducted in Literary, Sports and Cultural areas.

Yes, we do conduct Spell bee, Neltas, Assets, Olympiad.

Communication from school will be through any of the following modes:

  • Online platform
  • Email
  • SMS

Parents can get the updates about their child’s progress at the scheduled PTMs. In case of an emergency the parents can meet the teacher/coordinators on taking a prior appointment on a Saturday.

It is natural for a child to feel scared and nervous at being away from parents and adapt to a new environment. Speaking positively and assurances and a firm ‘you’ can resolve this matter. Remember your child is in safe and experienced hands.

  • Neatly dressed in either of the school uniforms
  • Black Velcro shoes
  • Neatly combed hair
  • Trimmed nails ( Nail Polish, mehndi and fancy earrings are not accepted at school)

The school has an infirmary with a qualified nurse to attend to such children immediately and administer first aid. We will inform you about such incidents and measures taken to help the child.

However, in emergencies like major injuries or a severe medical condition that develops at school, your child will be taken to Aster Hospital accompanied by a staff member for further specialized medical treatment until you arrive to take over.

We follow the 3 language policy of the CBSE . In addition to that, following the Karnataka government norms, we teach both Hindi and Kannada along with English from Grade 1 to 3. From Grade 4 to Grade 8 , English remains compulsory as first language but Hindi or Kannada can be chosen as either the second or the third language. In Grades 9 and 10, following the 2 language policy ,the students have to continue to learn English as the first language, with either Hindi or Kannada as the second language.
